Abstract
Three cases of accidental high pressure petroleum injection are presented. Pathogenicity is caused by the pressure of the injected material, the chemical irritation from the petroleum, and subsequent infection. The injury does not appear serious at first and could easily be confused by the attending physician unfamiliar with this type of accident with an infectious process. Early incision into the involved fascial planes and generous irrigation with saline, not a solvent, is indicated. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
