Abstract
Serial sections were used to study the development of the stem of a Bauhinia collected in Honduras. The production of a strap-shaped stem is the result of restriction of cambial activity to 2 localized regions on the periphery of the stem. Vessels of the periaxial region reach 0.35 mm. in diam. and extend >1 m. in length. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
