Abstract
Four tree shrews (Tupaia glis). trained to press illuminated stimulus panels in a dimly lighted soundproof box, were conditioned with food reinforcement to select a positive color stimulus (either red, green, yellow or blue). In the ensuing random series of 2-choice discrimination trials, each subject selected its positive-color with a high degree of accuracy (except in the case of red and yellow combinations), irrespective of the position or illumination of either color in the pair. The phylogenetic implications of these results are discussed. Keywords
