Abstract
Nickel(II) ions catalyse the formation of the first acetal to be derived from 2-sulfanyl-5-methyiisophthaldehyde; the structure of [Ni2L2Ni](ClO4)2(H2O)1 reveals thiolate-bridged nickel(II) ions with successive N2S2 square planar, N4S2 octahedral and N2S2 square planar nickel environments. Keywords
