Abstract
By means of the methods developed in the first paper of this series, SMTI, the Maxwell-Boltzmann integro-differential equation, underlying the well-developed Chapman-Enskog theory of transport phenomena in gases of low density, is derived from the principles of statistical mechanics. The derivation supplements and clarifies the usual physical argument employed to establish this important equation. Keywords
