Abstract
This article describes an occupational therapy home-based intervention that enables family caregivers to use environmental strategies in caring for an individual with dementia. A case comparison approach is used to examine the components of the intervention and its outcomes for two caregivers who experienced difficulty managing eating behaviors. The cases illustrate the role of the environment in managing eating problems and the importance of developing individualized solutions. At the completion of the intervention, both caregivers reported feeling less upset and feeling more efficacious in their approach to managing eating difficulties. Keywords
