Abstract
The sixth case of pineal germinoma with hematogenous metastasis occurred in a patient who has survived 11 years following vigorous radiation therapy and chemotherapy and is currently free of disease. The germ cell origin of the tumor is emphasized. While local invasion and subarachnoid metastasis is uncommon, hematogenous spread is very rare, and only following intracranial surgery. Extensive metastasis does not carry a grave prognosis and is controllable, or possibly even curable, by aggressive radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Keywords
