Abstract
Summary: Surgical stabilization of the upper cervical spine for maintaining reduction and facilitating fusion following trauma or other disorders causing instability may be reliably accomplished by wiring the dorsal ring of C1 to the dorsal element of C2 and applying autogenous bone graft. Several commonly used techniques of wiring and bone grafting are described and illustrated. © Williams & Wilkins 1994. All Rights Reserved. Keywords
