Abstract
The theory for measuring diffusion coefficients by the Taylor dispersion technique has been extended for use in three-component systems and the further extension to n components is indicated. The derived equations are tested using three-component data for real systems taken from the literature. The simulated curves show that the interacting diffusion terms can have a marked (and measurable) effect on the component concentration distribution curves. The theory should thus enable measurement of three-component diffusion coefficients by this simple and rapid method. Keywords
