Abstract
A new approach to the determination of surface tension by the drop weight technique is proposed. The method is designed to produce drops of maximum size. From preliminary measurements the modified technique appears to be much less sensitive to certain detrimental influences such as mechanical vibration and the rate of formation of drops. The experimental precautions appear therefore to be simplified, and the potential for increasing the reliability of the results is correspondingly increased. Keywords
