PENICILLIN AND ITS EFFECT IN PRODUCING A PREDOMINANT GRAM-NEGATIVE BACILLARY FLORA IN UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT OF CHILDREN

Abstract
16 of 90 children did not show a conversion to Gram-negative flora after penicillin treatment. 5 patients, under 2 yrs. of age, succumbed. Significance of possible contributory factors such as vomiting and sulfonamide therapy is discussed.
