Abstract
Extended x-ray-absorption fine structure (EXAFS) of liquid water above the oxygen K edge is reported for the first time. Major features of the EXAFS spectrum agree with the calculated spectrum based on the known O-O pair correlation function in water. Other features are tentatively identified as due to the effect of the hydrogen atoms on the photoelectrons. Keywords
