Criminal Behavior Among the Elderly

Abstract
The problem of criminal behavior among the elderly is a relatively neglected field of study. The importance of knowledge about this problem is highlighted by the fact that the absolute as well as the relative share of the elderly in American society is increasing constantly. This survey indicated that, while the share of the elderly among the arrestees is relatively minor, it has increased over time for index offenses. Most of the arrests were for misdemeanor offenses connected with the consumption of alcohol.
