Female hand dimensions and guarding of machines

Abstract
An anthropometric study of female hands was carried out on 92 subjects. The 28 measurements that were taken were those useful for the design of machinery and machine guards. The recommended dimensions for opening in fixed guards, BS5304:1975 and DIN 3100/Part 1, 1976, were sufficiently small to prevent access to dangerous parts by all hands measured in this survey.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
