Abstract
Atmospheric total gaseous mercury (TGM) levels have been determined at two sites near Wellington, New Zealand, the most southerly sites yet studied. Hg was collected on Au and measured using a photoacoustic Hg detector. Aerosols were also collected with no Hg being detected. Samples of 1 to 10 m3 were collected at a rate of 1 1 min−1 over periods of 1 to 7 days. At one site the Hg levels ranged from 0.5 to 1.3 ng m−3 which are lower than any previously obtained, possibly confirming Pacific Ocean trends with latitude. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
