New approach to analysing microstrip-like discontinuities using method of lines demonstrated for end effects

Abstract

The hybrid homogeneous boundary condition is introduced to the method of lines for microstrip-like discontinuity problems. Small numbers of ψ^e and ψ^h lines are needed for calculating the frequency-dependent properties of microstrip-like discontinuities. The end effect lengths of some microstrip-like configurations are calculated.
