Fullerene Monolayer-Modified Porous Si. Synthesis and Photoelectrochemistry

Abstract
A new type of monolayer‐modified porous p‐type surface incorporating covalently bonded fullerene has been prepared. Fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry characterization indicates that hydrosilylation and hydrogenation reactions occurred in the monolayer formation processes. The stability, redox activity, and photoelectrochemical properties of this monolayer‐modified porous surface were investigated. These results suggest applications in mediating reactions with surrounding media and to photovoltaics. ©1998 The Electrochemical Society
