Abstract
Mass screening of preschool children for heart disease was studied by both physical examination and computer methods. Although computer screening time in the case of preschool children was found to be about 1½ times longer than that reported in older children, a technician could still easily screen 100 or more children daily. Mass screening of children of preschool age for heart disease can be done efficiently and effectively by an analog-digital computer. Use of this device will enable physicians to spend their time and use their talents in definitive diagnosis rather than in mass screening, which can be done with equal sensitivity by the machine.
