Salbutamol and orciprenaline-induced changes in myocardial function

Abstract
The positive inotropic and chronotropic effect of salbutamol is significantly different from that of either orciprenaline or isoprenaline. Unlike orciprenaline, salbutamol neither reduces the ratio between the useful mechanical work performed by the heart and the oxygen expended in performing that work, nor does it deplete the cardiac stores of adenosine tri- and creatine-phosphate.
