Abstract
SINCE Wallgren's1 original description of aseptic meningitis a large number of diverse etiologic agents have been associated with this syndrome. When the meningitis has been accompanied by parotitis and orchitis the likeliest cause has been mumps, whether or not viral diagnostic studies have been performed. With the wider use of laboratory methods, however, Coxsackie and ECHO viruses have been associated with cases showing either orchitis2 , 3 or parotitis4 , 5 although in none of these reports were all three manifestations seen in a single patient.
