Abstract
Rats injected with syngeneic chondrocytes or cartilage shavings develop autoreactivity as assayed by the leucocyte migration inhibition test. It is suggested that chondrocyte specific differentiation antigen(s), normally sequestered from the immune system, once exposed experimentally by enzyme treatment or in some human pathological situations are recognized as foreign immunogens and induce a lymphocyte response. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
