Abstract
The dislocation mobility in NaCl at temperatures T = 4.2, 77 and 298 K under impact stresses is discussed in terms of con- servative and non-conservative motion of jogs on screw components. The standard dislocation theory suggests that high-velocity dislocation motion /1 to 121 is principally different from that with low velocity V 112 to 15 both in the dependence on temperature, 9, and on resolved shear stress & . It is characterized by the dislocation viscous drag coefficient
