Abstract
The Manpower Services Commission, as part of its programme in support of biotechnology in schools, funded the Division of Education at the University of Sheffield to explore and develop appropriate teaching strategies. The Sheffield team has worked on problem solving in biotechnology and on the handling of controversial issues in biotechnology.Keywords
