Abstract
Communications in any field depend upon mutually understood definitions which reflect the basic concepts of that field. The definitions of some of the key quality terms found in the glossaries of the European Organization for Quality Control, the American Society for Quality Control, and the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 176 on Quality Assurance are discussed from the viewpoint of meeting the needs of the general public as well as of the technical community.Keywords
