Abstract
Fifty undergraduate students took part in an investigation of the relationship among locus of control, mental ability, self-esteem, and alienation. The results suggested that alienation is related to external locus of control and low self-esteem. No significant association was found for mental ability and alienation. The relationships among locus of control, mental ability, self-esteem, and the alienation subcomponents of powerlessness, normlessness, and social isolation were explored. Keywords
