Abstract
Expts. in the [female] rat indicate that bile plays no important role in the absorption from the intestinal tract of steroid hormones. Following oral adm. of desoxycor-ticosterone acetate, progesterone, and testosterone a high conc. of these hormones is achieved in the blood so that general anesthesia ensues. This effect is not influenced by complete transection of the common bile duct. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
