Abstract
We demonstrate that a cancellation mechanism between quark and gluon contributions to the axial-vector singlet form factor is operative in a generalized Skyrme model, The calculation of the non-electromagnetic part of the neutron-proton mass difference plays a crucial role in this analysis. Keywords
