Abstract
An artificial oviposition device designed for R. cerasi meets all the requirements set by the peculiar oviposition behavior of this species. The artificial cherry (a red-colored gelatin ball wrapped in Parafilm) stimulates the same egg-laying intensity of the fly as do natural cherries. The process of separating the eggs from the carrier has no significant effect on the hatch-rate.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
