MASSIVE DOSE ARSENOTHERAPY OF EARLY SYPHILIS BY INTRAVENOUS DRIP METHOD

Abstract
Previous papers have dealt with the pharmacologic work underlying the adoption of the continuous intravenous drip method,1the clinical results in earlier series,2the organization of the supervisory committee,3the technical considerations for the administration of the drug,4the serologic5and chemical studies,6the organization of the follow-up clinic, under the direction of Dr. Evan Thomas7and Dr. Bruce Webster,8and the public health aspects.9 THE PLAN OF STUDY Four groups of patients are included in the present summary (table 1). Group 1, studied in 1933, consisted of 25 patients2who were given an average of 4 Gm. of neoarsphenamine over the course of five days.
