Abstract
The factors that affect the visual ranking from lightest to darkest of bleached karakul wool samples were investigated. Visual rankings were compared with values calculated from instrumentally obtained readings to determine the usefulness of the latter. The applicability of the calculated data for color measurement of both bleached and unbleached karakul wool is discussed, and a simple two-component scale is recommended. Keywords
