Abstract
The measurement of the acceleration of gravity (g) has long been a matter of scientific interest. Its value is of interest in a broad area of physical sciences, namely metrology, geophysics and geodesy. The authors discuss the various types of instrument, the methods of measurement and the applications of g.Keywords
