Abstract
The cation of composition [Ir(CS2)(CO)(PPh3)3]+, previously considered a η-CS2 complex of the [Pt(CS2)-(PPh3)2] type, is shown by an X-ray crystal structure determination of the tetrafluoroborate salt to be a 5 co-ordinate complex of iridium(I) containing the bidentate, sulphur-bound, triphenylphosphine-carbon disulphide zwitterion, Ph3P+–CS2 –, as ligand. Keywords
