Abstract
Temporary hyper-lipemia, which may be produced in normal dogs by the oral adm. of neutral fat or fatty acid, is abolished by removal of the pancreas and is not restored by the adm. of active pancreatic juice or of raw pancreas. Pancreatectomy produces a varying degree of impairment in the absorption of neutral fat, but some animals may still absorb 75% or more of the fat in the diet. A similar impairment occurs in the absorption of fatty acids, though not so great as in the case of neutral fat. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
