Abstract
Malignant Acanthosis Nigricans, Malignant Papilloma of the Bladder (Grade 1), Leiomyoma(?) of the Stomach, Transitional Cell Carcinoma of Left Kidney, Latent Syphilis. Presented by Dr. Helen O. Curth.About 1 year ago an 81-year-old Negro man noticed changes in the color of his skin and gross hematuria. In the past 6 months he has been hospitalized on 2 occasions in the Presbyterian Hospital for investigation of acanthosis nigricans and treatment of whatever pathology of other organs might be found. Five months ago a papillary tumor of the bladder was resected and its base fulgurated. One month later exploratory laparotomy was undertaken because x-ray examination of the kidneys showed failure to visualize the upper pole of the left kidney, and x-ray and gastroscopic examination of the stomach showed abnormality in HCl excretion and altered function of the pyloric antrum.
