The photoionization cross sections of molecular chlorine

Abstract
The total absorption and total ionization cross sections of molecular chlorine have been measured between 150 and 1037 Å. Over the range 150 to 850 Å the partial cross section for the production of singly charged molecular ions has been determined. In addition, the dissociativephotoionization cross section was both measured directly and derived from other measurements. The cross section for the production of doubly charged molecular ions was also ascertained between 150 and 450 Å. All the cross sections presented are absolute. The data confirm the molecular Cooper minimum seen in both one other experimental measurement and theoretical calculations and show good overall qualitative agreement with both previous experiment and theory.
