Abstract
An adaption to an arc-welder is described which enables it to double as an arc-furnace for samples of up to several cm3. A further advantage of the equipment is that it may be integrated into a glove box assembly enabling reactive samples to be loaded and unloaded under strictly controlled atmospheric conditions. Keywords
