Abstract
Poly(ethylene terephthalate) of number-average molecular weight of the order of 120,000 was prepared from commercial-grade material in the solid state with a gas chromatograph apparatus. Parameters studied were the catalyst, particle size, the molecular weight of the starting material, the reaction temperature and time, and the nature and flow rate of the carrier gas. Keywords
