Importing Acarine-Free Bees by Transporting Brood

Abstract
Research work is carried out for many different reasons. The experiments described here, on maintaining bee brood outside the hive, were initiated by the need to find a legitimate method of overcoming import restrictions on adult bees. The co-operation between the author, who is at Ontario Agricultural College in Canada, and scientists in the United States and other countries, is an example of the growing international character of research work.
