Abstract
The patterns of collateral circulation which develop after obstruction of the inferior vena cava were classically divided into 3 groups depending on the level of obstruction, i.e., infrarenal, middle caval and upper caval. The portal vein can play an active role at all 3 levels. Multiple potential routes to the portal vein are described and 6 case histories are presented. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
