Abstract
A simple technique is described for methylating the fatty acids of peanut oil directly in the ground peanuts for GC analyses. Data collected using this technique showed a mean standard deviation of ±0.1908% compared to a mean standard deviation of ±0.3122% for an accepted technique which requires extraction of the oil from the peanuts prior to methylation.Keywords
