To the Editor:— I was interested in the letter to the Editor inThe Journalof Jan. 8, 1955, page 171, captioned "A Simple Remedy for Foggy Glasses," by Drs. Littell and O'Connor. During my residency training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, the problem of fogging of glasses was solved by one of the surgical nurses, who simply advised me to apply a strip of 1 in. Scotch tape across the upper portion of the mask so that the adhesive tape stretches across the bridge of the nose and skin beneath both eyelids. The tape in this manner prevents air from passing upward to fog the glasses, since the barrier is a perfect one. One can insure total comfort by pulling the mask downward slightly in order to avoid placing the Scotch tape on any portion of the skin overlying the orbicularis muscle of the lower
