Abstract
P-Chloroamphetamine depleted serotonin in the rat pineal gland. Unlike the effect of P-chloroamphetamine on brain serotonin [5-hydroxytryptamine] in rats, the depletion in the pineal gland lasted only a few hours and was not prevented by pretreatment with fluoxetine, an uptake inhibitor.
