Abstract
We present a fully self-consistent equation of state for hot asymmetric (with arbitrary proton to neutron ratio) and symmetric nuclear matter for a wide range of temperatures and densities. Comparison with the observed (?) entropy from the fireball suggests that some unusual degrees of freedom would have to be responsible for the discrepancy. Keywords
