Abstract
The thermal reaction of NO2 and C2H4 was studied in the gas phase at 25°C. The products of the reaction were CH3NO2, CH3ONO2, NO, N2O, CO2, C2H4O, and H2O. A mechanism is presented to explain the formation of these products, and some rate constants are derived from the mechanism, the rate of consumption of NO2, and the rate of formation of the products. Keywords
