6—THE PRINCIPLES OF FRICTION TWISTING

Abstract
A method of false twisting by frictional contact between yarn and a moving surface is described and the relation between the variables, obtained experimentally, is discussed. It is shown that equivalent twist-head speeds of up to 1,000,000 r.p.m. can be obtained at actual rotational speeds of up to 5,000 r.p.m. only.
