Abstract
The authors observe true and quasiperiod-4 collective evolution of average values in one-dimensional lattices of logistic maps with variable coupling range. The phenomenon appears to be quite prevalent for local coupling beyond nearest neighbours. They find that in one dimension it is easy to visualize the structure of the four (quasi)states; these appear to be quite stable to disturbances such as domain reversals. Keywords
