Abstract
From the dried mycelium of a strain of Penicillium nigricans (Bainier)-Thorn grown on Czapek-Dox glucose medium the following metabolites were extracted: mannitol, mesoerythritol, griseofulvin and (a new product) L-phenylalanine-anhydride [cis-L([long dash])-3,6-dibenzyl-2,5-dioxopiperazine). The yield of the last named was maximal after 7 days'' incubation. The L-phenylalanine-anhydride (synthetic and natural products) were identical. Keywords
