Abstract
In this paper we discuss the connection and differences between effective particle-particle and particle-hole interactions using the Green's function method. We also consider the relation between the Skyrme and Landau-Migdal effective internucleon interactions for nucleons on top of the Fermi sea in infinite nuclear matter. Keywords
