γ−γDirectional Correlations in the Decay ofIr192

Abstract
γγ directional correlations have been measured for the following cascades in the decay of 74-day Ir192: 468-417 keV, A2=0.12±0.03, A4=0.11±0.06, |δ| (417 keV)>8; 588-612 keV, A2=0.09±0.03; 604-316 keV, A2=0.49±0.03, δ(604 keV)2; 308-612 keV, A2=0.10±0.02, δ(308 keV)=8±2; 588-296 keV, A2=0.00±0.03, δ(296 keV)>4 or <20; 484-206 keV, A2=0.28±0.03, δ(484 keV)=10(+10,3); 374-206 keV, A2=0.10±0.03. The results (1) support spin assignments of 3 and 4 for the 921- and 1200-keV levels, respectively, in Pt192, (2) are consistent with spin 4 for the 580-keV level in Os192, and (3) indicate spin 3 for the 690-keV level in Os192.
