Observation of Transverse Zero Sound in Normal

Abstract
The direct transmission of transverse zero sound between two -cut quartz transducers is observed in the vicinity of 3 mK; at higher temperatures the transition to classical viscous shear-wave behavior is observed through the effect on the damping of a single transducer.
